There are great scanning tools that will help to find content that does not have any schema references. We utilize Semrush and AIOSEO on behalf of clients for this purpose, as well as other tools that assist with auto-generation of these cryptic details within site HTML code.
A quick check anyone can do to see if they're properly tagging their site with schema elements:
Go to a blog post, or another page that was written by a human authority on the topic. View the source -- hit CTRL-U or right click on the page content somewhere and view the source. Then hit CTRL-F to search the source for the word 'schema'. Hopefully you either find something like this:
and in that same line you also should see reference to a link out to the author's page:
There's also a direct embedding method. Search for 'itemprop="author"' to reveal whether or not this primary principle for your content is in place.
If you're not finding either of these on a piece of great, human-written content, your business will benefit greatly from putting them in place. It doesn't stop at author, though!
Please consult with Search Engine Journal's article on Google E-E-A-T for a more thorough explanation of why this is so important.
